"Our family reunion had a wonderful time at The Holiday Motel & RV Resort. It is situated at the base of mountains with spectacular views in every direction. We had bright and sunny weather with only a single shower one morning for the five days we were there. Your accommodations were spacious, comfortable and ideal for what we wanted, and it was just the right size for our first Syms reunion. We filled all the cabins and rooms, most of the RV spots and several of the tent spots. We had 101 people with 4 from Australia, 8 from England, 13 from the USA and the rest from across Canada. Their ages ranged from six months to 89 years young for a woman from England.

Holiday Motel staff were most helpful in every way possible, especially when they hung the plywood sheets for our descendant diagrams, and turned the waiting area into our display gallery. We were appreciative of the tents, tables and chairs and used them for displaying other souvenirs and talking about our families. Several of the campers enjoyed their evening bonfires.

The provisions for meals were ideal with a breakfast and snack restaurant only a block away, and one of the best restaurants in town, Skinny's, just 3 blocks away. The two catered dinners at the golf course were superb. The dining room was ideal for our group and it allowed us lots of time for discussions, live music and dancing after the dinners. "We gathered at Holiday Motel & RV Resort for our Prough Family Reunion over a 4 day weekend in July 2010. It was MARVELOUS!! We had 92 family attending and the accomodations fit us very well, with lots of selection from hotel rooms or quaint cabins, to RV & tenting. But the best was the communal gathering space, room to sit around the tables and visit, swim in the pool, play a variety of games and sing around the campfire. We appreciated the special touches of fruit platters one morning, campfires prepared in the evenings and friendly help wherever needed. With many nearby attractions, some got out to hike the Othello caves, others golfed, some dirt-biked up nearby mountains, while others enjoyed the local restaurants. There was lots of talk of another reunion within a few years and all thought we should come back to Holiday Motel & RV Resort at that time.-Prough Family Reunion 2010.
